Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Post upgrade to 8.18.1 patch 1 Powershell ABX actions fail with "Out of Memory" error.

 

Example error:

Extensibility triggered task failed. Event ID: 0645b5a9-01fb-3c88-a03b-8451xxxx. Failure: Extensibility error received for topic compute.provision.post, eventId = '0645b5a9-01fb-3c88-a03b-8451xxxx': [10040] SubscriberID: abx-vejlTzdJUxLxxx, RunnableID: 8a7480667dd98b0b017e922ee12xxxx and SubscriptionID: sub_16431301xxxx failed with the following error: Action run failed with the following error: Action was stopped. Most likely because it hit an OOM (out of memory) condition.

Environment

Automation 8.18.1 and higher

Cause

Powershell is upgraded to 7.4 and requires more memory.

Resolution

Procedure:

  1.  Open the Powershell Action.

  2.  Check the box "Set custom limits and retry options"

  3.  Change the default "Memory limit (MB) from 300 to a higher level such as 1024

  4.  Save and test.
